Why So, Our Dear Youths?

If I don't point my finger to the core of Systems, the trend now, the juggernaut of marketable culture, the superiority to be emulated for, the exaggeration in varieties and needs but not in self-mirroring or self-critique, how can I just point to the trends of vogues and fads, notwithstanding being a luring fillip, for my sadly finding so many well-donned, pro-vogue, complexion-brightened youths so dumb, insecure, with stony yet nervous countenances? Don't they read their past greatness marked by inner-beauty, not like what those in Vanity Fair strive for? If we don't need calmness and inner firmness, then why we dabble in wishing for it or blindly exaggerating on it? Some say 'time is bad', but I think we are bad, our way of pursuing life's meaning. And now in India, as beloved parents' concern for their children, especially young daughters away from them, there is this haunting trepidation saying 'custom runs bad these days'. And this 'custom' is for me the same thing what I am hinting at. What is there after so many political, cultural and economic revolutions that had rather blotted out than rigging up and trying to understand through seeing--after venting at and destroying like Four Olds during Cultural Revolution in Tibet and China? Why? And here I say the West in novels is much better; the need of distance is indispensable for being able to appreciate so far.

A Woman of Now

Being overfed with your cant, your piety, your lenity, your chastity, so docile and nervous like slinking in a flurry of hundreds of passing ills ogling and leering at you, oh, the purest one, presenting so like I am a huge fool, oh, you, the good one, being overfed so, I now want to ask you why you're just after baroque glitter and surfeit of sensuousness, those needless shoes and coats and pants and so on. I haven't seen a single book on your shelf? How possible one in Tibetan. Where do your piety and lenity stand on? Now the fever of Women Empowerment or something like Empowering Tibetan Women. You mean towards having that glossed over nervous bearing so rife in the West? You mean towards that incommunicado? Your knowledge of love seems to be arching over to the heart of summum bonum, purity, motherliness, humanity. Yes, you present so. But, for now, I don't have a reliable means to barge to the back of that docility and demureness. But, sadly, it's open like love itself. But, in practice, your love is all about need, not giving and sacrificing. Yes, it can be of now, so busy but hardly having a thing worth-doing, the same oddity, the same conundrum, the same humdrum words and bearings.

My Way of Loving You

Wet cobbles; fallen dark-gold, namely rotting, of planes and oaks and chestnuts; sadly, I miss the brilliant scarlet of maples around here; mossed-over sidewalks along lengths of ragged hedges; springy, rocking gaits like a means of expression; nervous despite being composed expressions; I am no longer interested in taut, stony ones; sufferings being telepathically communicated despite toying with this and that gizmo, so busy; dumb, no, but you can speak fluently in any tongues; if you make a voice in it, I can get it somehow; incommunicado, no, you choose the other easier way; excommunication, no, everyone is so, insulated, safely raving--so a sniffer weaves through you but has a moment to care a peek at you. Happy Valentines Day to you all!

A Personal Eulogy

By holding every staunch, learned one to caring individual for Tibet and Tibetans close to my heart, for the exigent case not so much politicised as for not being that lucrative, for the stark opposite realities behind the looming drapery of nervous yet sweet-lipped propaganda of creating 'a heavenly Tibet', the sober worlds still mesmerised so so far, I do wholeheartedly pay my deep condolence for the demise of Prof. Elliot Sperling, and so my sincere prayers. His paternal like love especially for Tibetan youths like saying not to be afraid of fighting for justice and personal liberty has been just brought to my attention. Sorry for my not knowing him through his great works on Tibetology but always hearing about him. Not to be afraid of what? I answer as of the looming grandiosity of structures and arms and wealth, petty human ventures just a click away from a natural disaster. Coming across the same remark poked at my strange sensitivity letting me shed much over him who I have never met in my life. And it calls up what I have learned about Aunty Asha's (of Madras) doings for Tibetan students there. Though I have never had such opportunity of schooling and the convivial vibrancy of activities and interactions and learning related with its romance, I do appreciate those who have such. Once learned some about her through a TSAM's magazine many years back, I have found her really as 'a lady with gold lamp', the sobriquet I skimmed over in the same mag, for her benign bearing so sober like expecting nothing but doing for those daring young Tibetans, my brothers and sisters. Treasuring such and such personality the world over as we can't take such for granted ever, I shed even more for the late great Tibetologist of our time. :(
